Major Russian Strikes Disrupt Power In Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have caused electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and faced problems to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.

At the same time, a minor was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Moscow has intensified strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, Europe and the G7 - in delivering protection systems and implementing sanctions," he wrote in a public message.

He said that 450 drones and more than 30 rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as winter approaches.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were laboring to repair systems.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and residential structures in Kyiv.

Multiple people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the city came under heavy assaults overnight. A minor lost their life and three other people were wounded.

The assaults follow periods of aerial attacks in the territory, parts of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The whole nation is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to identify.

National leaders told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the country's energy grid, with attacks already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated energy workers and authorities were anticipating more assaults.
